As part of our continuing push to develop understanding of New Zealand in the former Soviet Union, we recently hosted journalists representing the Russian Edition of National Geographic Traveler, the Russian Edition of the Robb Report, and a Russian travel TV programme. They took us in as a part of a Pacific-wide trip incorporating New Zealand, Australia and Tahiti. Their favourite part? New Zealand.
Many, many thanks to all of the people who supported us in this, who will find their own mentions in upcoming Russian publications and continuing loyalty from us in placing our clients with them. Our belief that the Russian market is ready for New Zealand, has the high-value visitors sought by official strategies, and has the will to travel to the other side of the world remains unwavering. Note that it took them 15 years from 'opening' to develop the sophistication to find New Zealand an attractive destination in numbers.
Western Europe also continues to find New Zealand attractive. We have been meeting a number of top agents in the UK, Germany and Spain and can assure you that interest remains strong. Value for money is still important, and quality of experience is more important than ever. Our lodge partners have been very well received wherever we have presented them.
