A Consistent Performer

I think it was two or three years ago that we discovered new boutique lodge Silver Pine.  We wrote an article a while ago, encouraging people to try it out.  It's with no apology for repetition that we do so again.  Mike and Sue Yates are tireless hospitality professionals, superb hosts, and have the best "bang for buck" value of any lodge in New Zealand.

The views are every bit as good as those from a helicopter, the cuisine has been described by guests as "Michelin 3 Star", and the warmth of the hosting by civilised, educated, sophisticated human beings, is second to none.  Mike takes special interest in finding out about clients before they arrive and researching elements of their culture and history.  Sue provides food which is refreshingly different from standard "lodge fare".

Mike and Sue have also worked closely with us in the past to develop new and authentic activities for our clients.  Not every lodge owner understands what an activity is, let alone has the finesse to actually develop one.  A good one that is - as that is all that interests our clients - activities which are refreshing, authentic, deep.  They also have a superb network of happy and friendly neighbours who truly respect what they have achieved in this quite unforgiving part of "real New Zealand".  Clients are welcomed into this family, introduced to interesting locals, wined, dined, and enriched.

Every single one of our clients who has been here has come away wanting more.  Clients who have seen the best this country has to offer.  And all this at a third of the cost of a "superlodge".

Please don't all flock to the door, as we have a growing client portfolio who also want to stay - but have a try, these guys are without a doubt worth it.
