Hari grew up in Mumbai, but quickly learned that big cities and corporate ladders were not for him.
After completing his BSc he spent some time as a Camp Counsellor caring for Youth Campers on the lush outskirts of Mumbai, where the rainforest meets the city’s edge, and he found that he could not get the wilderness out of his head. A quick Google into countries that prioritise their natural spaces, and he set his sights on New Zealand.
During his 7 years in New Zealand he has earned his Graduate Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management in Queenstown, guided in caves, on boats, and up mountains, and even worked on a dairy farm, though he found his outgoing charm was somewhat lost on the cows.
Finding Queenstown too busy, and the farm too isolated, Hari is settled in Te Anau, Fiordland, home to three members of the Ahipara team.
During his time off, Hari loves hiking, exploring the country, and playing excessive amounts of disc golf (even winning the odd tournament).
At work, Hari is in our Itinerary Coordination team. His guiding experience and passion for this country shine through, and his naturally warm manner and attention to detail make him an ideal person to support you on your journey through Aotearoa.
