Hunting with Locals

In New Zealand, hunting is a part of life. We have abundant introduced animals (deer, chamois, tahr) which the Department of Conservation spends a lot of taxpayer money to keep under control. Local hunters play their part in ethically managing areas of remote land. This experience provides access to one of those areas, together with an excellent conservation-minded group of local hunters - mostly Search & Rescue trackers. It has worked very well when introducing parents and children to ethical hunting.

Deep within secluded tribal lands, this journey moves beyond the hunt to focus on a holistic connection with the wilderness. Guided by experts who live by the rhythms of the forest, you will find that hunting in New Zealand with locals offers a landscape where traditional values and modern conservation meet.

The emphasis is on the art of the stalk and the quiet observation of nature, providing a rare opportunity to understand the delicate balance of a thriving wild ecosystem. It is an authentic immersion into a world where the land is respected as a provider, offering a profound sense of place and a deeper appreciation for the ancient relationship between people and the environment.
