Hidden Gems

Most people these days are aware of NZ's world class hiking, food and wine, lodge scene and trophy trout fishing.

However, many are not aware that we host Jacques Cousteau's only non-tropical dive site in his top10, have world records for striped marlin and yellowtail kingfish, a burgeoning owner hosted luxury accommodation scene, and a place the Dalai Lama called a spiritual centre of the universe. Add to that the finest collection of Polynesian artifacts in the world, six introduced deer and goat species available for ethical hunting, a stable of world record spearfishing guides, an exclusive jetboat safari, and we're starting to see why it's hard for even repeat travellers to get bored.

Deep diving into one very specialised niche, 90% of our insect species are endemic - if there's a spark of interest we can get you on after-dark "bugging" photography adventures. We also have significant infrastructure and research around conservation, ranging from predator free islands to support our ground-nesting native birds, to catching eels so we can transport them over dams built in their migration paths.

These are just a few examples of other ways in which New Zealand has been blessed, and a reminder not to be complacent or easily pleased in uncovering the treasures of a particular country. This is why we always ask for detailed client profiles.
